“If I forget thee,
O Jerusalem ...”
On
17th of Tammuz, 1929 years ago ....
the walls of
Jerusalem were breached
leading to the
Destruction of the Temple
three weeks later
On the 9th of Av, in the
year 3830,
Israel was put in
chains,
Her people
raped,
murdered,
tortured;
brought to the brink
of destruction.
We still wait for the Redemption,
yet our hope, our
faith
is strengthened.
For we can see that Israel still
lives
The Children of
Yaakov still exist,
While those who would
have seen us destroyed
Are naught but dust
and ash.
